Al Ain: The UAE’s Amnah No’man continued her brilliant form at the 13th World Youth Chess Championships, winning her third point in as many matches after beating Australian Emma Guo in the sixth round to swell her tally to four points in the Under-18 girls’ competition.

the seventh round in her quest to join the leading group, which comprises five players with five points each.

Ebrahim Sultan of the UAE also kept his hopes alive in the Under-16
Open category after settling for a draw with Tuan Minh Tran from
Vietnam. Sultan’s four points keep him in with a chance in a group where
a total of eight players share top spot with five points each.
Sultan will face Armin Juhasz form Hungary in the seventh round.
American Liang Awonder and Iranian Ali Reza Firoozja share the leadership of the Under-10 Open, with six points each. They, too, are set to meet each other in the seventh round.

England to win his third point in five matches to also keep his
challenge alive.
Iranian Pouy Idani continued his sole leadership of the Under-18 Open
with 5.5 points and will face his nearest rival Naroditsky Daniell of
the US who has 5 points to his name.
Chinese players dominated the Under-14 Open, Di Li leading with six
points from as many matches followed by his compatriot Yan Liu, half a
point behind. The leading duo will face each other in the seventh round.
American Liang Awonder and Iranian Ali Reza Firoozja share the leadership of the Under-10 Open, with six points each. They, too, are set to meet each other in the seventh round.
Turkey’s Isik Can and India’s Praggnanandhaa Ramesh Babu share the top
position in the Under-8 Open with six points each and are scheduled to
face each other in the seventh round. The UAE’s Ali Al Ali leads the
local players in this category with three points following his win over
Akromkhan Maratknonov of Uzbekistan.
Tianlu Gu of China became the sole leader in the Under-16 girls’ event
with six points. She next takes on Ani Harulyunyan of Armenia, who is
currently in second place with 5.5 points.
Bulgarian Gabriela Antova and Russian Polina Shuvalova lead the
Under-12s with 5.5 points each. The two players go up against one
another in the seventh round as they bid to assume sole control of the
group. The UAE’s Yasmin Ali collected three points from six matches
after beating Maria Maess form Norway in the sixth round to set up a
clash with Shanthi Toure from France in the seventh round.
Indian Lakshmi Chidambaram, the sole leader of the Under-10 event with
six points, will face Iranian Motahara Asadi, who has 5.5 points, in the
seventh round.
