FIDE Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman
emerged unbeaten champion of the Sheikh Russell Memorial Chess
tournament, organised by Sheikh Russell Jatio Shishu Kishor Parishad, at
the Bangladesh Chess Federation hallroom
yesterday.
Fatematuzzohor Shraboni and Sumiya Khandokar finished runner-up and third in Group C (senior group) respectively, while Mossammat Zhorna Begum also became unbeaten champion in Group B followed by Amit Bikram Roy and Kazi Fahim Wahid. In group A, Junayed Al Sami finished first followed by Tahsin Anjum and Ajmain Iktidar.
A total of 50 school students participated in the event, said a press release.
