IM Jakhongir Vakhidov wins 3rd Central Asia Cup

From 11th October to 21st October 2013 the 3rd Central Asia Cup for the prizes of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was conducted in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The chess players from the Central Asia countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - took part in this event.

38 chess players participated in the championship played by swiss system in 9 rounds with a total prize fund 25 000 US dollars.

The winner is IM Jakhongir Vakhidov (Uzbekistan), IM Kirill Kuderinov (Kazakhstan) took the 2nd place and GM Pavel Kotsur (Kazakhstan) took the 3rd place.

The Central Asia Cup went to the team of Uzbekistan which successfully won it three times in a row.
